Birthplace (生家, Seika) is the 50th chapter of the Kekkaishi Manga written and illustrated by Yellow Tanabe.
Summary[]
Yoshimori demands more information from Gen Shishio. Gen says that a large group of Ayakashi are targeting Karasumori, and that Kekkaishi will not be able to defeat them alone. Gen doubts Yoshimori's abilities again, and Yoshimori swears he will surpass Gen. Tokine hits them both with Kekkai for using their powers in the daytime. Tokine points out that a Night Troop operative should be able to carry out missions without being noticed. She begins to introduce herself, but Gen walks past her without a word.
Yoshimori returns to class in a bad mood, and asks Hiromu Tabata for any info he has on Gen. Hiromu only knows that Gen doesn't talk much and lives alone. Yoshimori insists that Gen is a bad guy, and Hiromu says most people had similar reactions, but that some girls think that makes him cool.
Gen later visits the Yukimura Home to introduce himself to Tokiko Yukimura. Tokiko offers to let him stay there, but Gen assures her he already has a place. Gen next goes to the Sumimura Home to introduces himself to the head of the family. Shuji Sumimura tells him that Shigemori Sumimura has gone out, but invites him in for tea while he waits.
Shigemori vists his old friend Heisuke Matsudo, an expert in phylogeny. He notices that Matsudo's assistant Kagami is an Ayakashi, and that her appearance is based on that of a woman Matsudo used to love. Shigemori gives Matsuo a sample from the false human arm that Yoshimori recovered from The Spy.
