The Man Who Would Not Die (死ねない男, Shinenai Otoko) is the 113th chapter of the Kekkaishi Manga written and illustrated by Yellow Tanabe.
In a flashback, Aihi's Companiontells her his body is weakening to the point where he will not be able to leave his home and visit her any longer. He grabs her with a talisman hidden on his forearm to prevent her from escaping, and begs her to come with him. Unable to flee, Aihi reluctantly gives in. Once in his home, he comes up with excuses for her not to eat any of his family. Aihi quickly tires of this and tries to leave, but finds he has placed talismans around the house to prevent her from leaving. The man says he will only live one more year, which is only a short time for a demon like her. He confesses he doesn't want to be alone anymore, and says she only needs to eat him if she truly wants to escape. However, the man's older brother dies, and he decides to support the family himself, gaining new life in the process. Such sudden strength from such a weak body confuses Aihi.
As Aihi gradually surrounds Kaguro with vines, she tells him that the man eventually died once his siblings had grown up. Kaguro seems satisfied that she wasn't able to eat the man, even as Aihi destroys his body. However, once she tries to leave the castle, Kaguro suddenly appears behind her, now in his true form, and impales her through the back with multiple swords. He is about to kill her when he senses Yoshimori approaching.
