A Day in the Life (Part 2) (良守の日々(中編) "Yoshimori no Hibi (Chūhen)" ) is the 18th chapter of the Kekkaishi Manga written and illustrated by Yellow Tanabe
Yoshimori is stunned by Hiwatari's power and accuracy, and is unsure how he will handle it. However, Hiwatari runs away again, so he chases after it. Tokine is just behind him, trying to come up with a strategy. She quickly climbs a tree to get a better view, keeping her eye on the area where Hiwatari is headed. As it emerges into the open, Tokine traps it within a Kekkai. Hiwatari breaks free with another ice shard and escapes. Tokine notes she was hoping to stop the Ayakashi before it got to a dangerous place: the school pool, where Yoshimori soon chases it. Hiwatari dives into the pool and freezes over the entire surface.
Yoshimori asks Madarao to pinpoint Hiwatarai's location, but Madarao says he can't. Yoshimori steps onto the ice and falls through, and barely dodges in time as multiple ice shards nearly impale him. Yoshimori targets that area, but misses. He realizes that Hiwatari reacts when attacked, and that they need to make it angry. Yoshimori moves off of the ice, then destroys multiple sections of the iced pool with Kekkai. Tokine notes that he is wasting his strength, but wonders what it would be like to have so much strength to waste. Yoshimori steps onto the broken ice, drawing Hiwatari's attack again. Hiwatari emerges from the ice, and is suddenly hit by a kunai, thrown by Tokine. Hiwatari becomes further enraged, shooting a wide beam of ice. It begins charging an ice shard, but Tokine is unable to dodge because her feet are frozen to the ground. Yoshimori jumps in front of her and forms a Kekkai around them, but Tokine says that won't work, and tells him to follow her lead.
